Ashton Whitty and Asia Argento
Ashton Blaise Whitty (born October 1, 1995, on the streets of Berkeley California) is an actor. She's an actress well-known for her roles in Choices (2010, The Heart and Other Small Shapes, 2006) as well as Chrissie Mair's Content House, 2022.
Asia Argento was born in Rome, Italy, into the family of actors and film makers, two careers which she's been pursuing. Her first film came out when she was only nine years aged in Sergio Citti's film Sogni e Bisogni in 1988. she starred as the main character in the debut film of Cristina Comencini, Zoo, and was part of the cast of The Church directed by Michele Soavi. Following that the film, she portrayed Nanni Moritti's baby as a child in Red Wood Pigeon. Her career took off when she landed the role of Nanni's little girl in Close Friends. Cannes International Film Festival was a great success for the film. In Trauma she appeared in her first film with her father, the famous Italian horror director Dario Argento her mother is one of Argento's favorite actresses, Daria Nicolodi, playing an overweight girl on the lookout for her parents' killer. Asia was in Dario's Phantom of the Opera, the third film she directed together with her father. Other films were Trauma and The Stendhal Syndrome. The actress co-starred alongside Carlo Verdone in Perdiamoci di the view as Arianna, a girl with physical handicap. The complex and demanding role won her an award: a David di Donatello Prize for Best Actress. Her 1995 work with Michel Piccoli for Peter Del Monte's Compagna di viaggio won her a David di Donatello, as well as an award of Grolla oro. Asia started directing short films in 1994. In addition, she directed an episode for the movie De Generazione. 1996 saw her direct a documentary with her dad. 1998 she directed AbelAsia which was a film about legendary director Abel Ferrara. This film received a prize from the Rome Film Festival. The year 1999 was the year Asia was the first to direct a feature film in the form of Scarlet Diva where she was the leading actress and author of the screenplay. The film came out in May 2000 both in Italy and around the globe. It was awarded during the Williamsburg Film Festival in Brooklyn, New York.
